Cut Your Tampa Electric Bill — Solar Systems For Homes & Businesses

Solar Water-shedding and warranted Timberline Solar™ is

made up of shingles, not panels or heavy tiles. These shingles are water-shedding, strong and warranted to withstand winds up to 130 mph. Rack-mounted solar installations—where the solar is separate from the roof—require the drilling of dozens of holes into the roof membrane. Any resulting damage related to those holes is not typically covered by roof warranties.

For homeowners who already know the quality of GAF roofing products, the Timberline Solar™ roof has the same wind and water-shedding warranty coverage as Timberline HDZ.

Types of Solar Systems for you

We offer a range of solar solutions tailored to meet your specific energy needs and goals:

  • Grid-tied systems are connected to the local utility grid, allowing you to draw power from both the grid and your solar panels. Any excess energy generated during the day is fed back into the grid, and you can receive credits for the energy you provide (a process called net metering). This system is ideal for homes looking to reduce energy bills while staying connected to the grid.
  • Off-grid systems are not connected to the utility grid and are ideal for homes in remote locations or areas with unreliable power supply. These systems store excess energy in batteries for use at night or during cloudy days. They offer complete energy independence and are perfect for those looking to live off the grid.
  • Hybrid systems combine grid-tied and off-grid features. These systems include a battery storage option that allows you to store excess energy for use when needed. Hybrid systems are ideal for those who want the benefits of both grid connection and energy storage for backup power.
  • With the addition of solar batteries, your system can store excess energy generated during the day for use at night or during power outages. This helps ensure that your home remains powered even when the sun isn’t shining or during grid disruptions.

How Solar Batteries Work

Energy Generation
Your solar panels generate electricity during the day by converting sunlight into usable energy. When your solar system produces more energy than you need, the excess energy is directed to the solar battery.
Energy Storage
The solar battery stores the excess energy for later use. This energy can be used when your solar panels aren’t generating electricity, such as during the night or on cloudy days, or during peak demand periods when electricity rates are higher.
Energy Usage
When the demand for electricity in your home exceeds what your solar panels are producing, the solar battery automatically discharges stored energy to supply the needed power. This helps reduce your reliance on the utility grid and lowers your electricity costs.
